Frequently Asked Roofing Questions

Can Diamond Home Remodeling work with my Insurance Company?

Yes, we can work with any insurance company, we are familiar with all of them. Here are a few we have worked with through the years:

Will my premium go up?

No, your rates can not rise for filing a claim that is an act of God event. The Insurance companies weigh negligence differently! Everyone in your zip code will see an increase to make up their loss for all the claims.

Shouldn't I get multiple estimates?

The insurance companies work off a computer software program to prepare the estimate, which has their predetermined pricing. Getting estimates before filing, they are just hoping you find a cheap contractor.

But I don't have damage!?

We are currently working with many people that have thought the same thing. That is actually why we offer a FREE inspection! Not everyone is going to have damage but it's worth the peace of mind to have it checked.

Does my Insurance Comp. represent me?

No, adjusters sent to assess your property represents your insurance company. The Insurance Commission will advise a homeowners to have someone certified and competent to insure proper compensation.

How much Time do I have to file a Claim?

Each insurance provider has a different time frame or your policy may have a statute of limitations. Some providers only give you 6 months, if you don't file within that grace period, the financial burden then falls on you.

Can you contact my Insurance Provider?

No, we can assist you with filing the claim explaining to your insurance company the findings but your insurance provider needs your permission to file and to allow us to speak on your behalf as your contractor.

Should I call my insurance agent?

No, even though you may have a personal relationship with your agent, this will only slow down the process. It creates an extra unnecessary steps that all leads to what we get from calling the claims center directly.

Is an Inspection necessary?

Yes, even though you may not be able to see the damage, the storm was classified as a catastrophe. This damage will go unnoticed until an issue arises. Insurance companies won't pay for preexisting damage or neglect.

Why'd my neighbor get approved & not I?

Without proper representation some damage or code requirements often get overlooked. Don't worry! Without filing another claim or any effort on your part, you can hire a public adjuster.

It has been __ years since I made a Claim?

In that time frame you've paid hundreds of thousands if you include the interest that your insurance company has made off those premiums; what have they done for you? You've paid for a roof & or siding by now!

What is this going to costing me?

$0 for DHR's service! Only if you are approved by your insurance company will you pay only your deducible. If you are denied there is NO COST to you. We work for the job and do it for the insurance dollar amount.

Why do I need DHR for this process?

Most contractors may know roofing & siding but do they know the insurance restoration? Are they licensed? Are they certified? We are fully trained professionals with many years combined experience in this industry.

Can I paint my roof?

How can I determine if my roof needs to be repaired or replaced?

A mild detergent or solution of bleach and water should be applied by hand using a sponge and then rinsed thoroughly. Power washing and scrubbing is not recommended.

Hail can cause damage to shingles and in more severe cases expose felt matting. Contact Diamond Home Remodeling Inc. for an evaluation following a hailstorm or any other extreme weather event.

Are asphalt shingles environmentally friendly?

Asphalt shingles are available in fiberglass or organic format. Organic shingles are saturated with asphalt for waterproofing and are less environmentally friendly due to a high asphalt content compared to fiberglass or composite shingles.
